'Pokemon TCG: Platinum' Due In February Date: 12/23/2008 |
Pokemon USA has announced the February 11th release of the all-new Pokemon TCG: Platinum. This latest installment of the Pokemon TCG, which will be released in both theme decks and boosters, contains 130 cards and introduces the never-before-seen Pokemon Shaymin as well as a new Forme of the Renegade Pokemon Giratina Origin Forme. The new Pokemon TCG: Platinum release also includes six new Pokemon LV.X, including Giratina and Shaymin, as well as three Shiny Pokemon, which are available as parallel foil cards. Nintendo of America will release the new Pokemon Platinum Version of the bestselling Pokemon video game in March just after the release of Pokemon TCG: Platinum. The new iteration of the Pokemon video game is linked to the new version of the Pokemon TCG by the character of Giratina. The new Forme of Giratina is a key character in both the new Pokemon video game and the Pokemon TCG: Platinum. The first step in the new Pokemon TCG adventure, Platinum will contain 60-card theme decks ($11.99) for both beginners and intermediate players of all ages. The theme decks, which will be designated Rebellion and Flourish, will feature an innovative holographic packaging. The 10-card Pokemon TCG: Platinum Booster Packs, will have an MSRP of $3.79. Pokemon USA is planning Platinum Prerelease Tournaments for the weekends of January 31st to February 1st and February 7-8. |
