'Halo Wars' Figures from McFarlane Due March 2009 Date: 9/10/2008 |
McFarlane Toys will release a series of action figures from Halo Wars, the upcoming real-time strategy game based on the best-selling Halo videogame series. The figures are 2.5?tall, with limited mobility at the waist, and will come in packs of three, retailing for $10 a piece. Three of the four sets in Series One feature UNSC troops, a mix of Spartans and Marines, while the fourth set contains two Covenant Elites with plasma rifles, along with a Needler-wielding Grunt. Series One will be released in March 2009, shortly after the February release of the Halo Wars videogame, and be available through comic stores serviced by Diamond Comics Distributors as well as through mass market retailers. The figures mark the second line of Halo figures from McFarlane (see ?McFarlane?s Halo 3 Toys?); Series 3 of the figures are due out later this month. Halo 3 snared over $300 million in its first week of release (see ?Halo 3 Snags Over $300 Million?), an opening-week record since surpassed by Grand Theft Auto 4 (see ?Biggest Launch in Entertainment History?). In total, over 8 million copies of Halo 3 have been sold since its September 2007 release. |
