Kotobukiya on "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" Date: 3/3/2005 |
Latest chapter in Square's epic saga to receive new collectibles! Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (FFVII: AC) is the much anticipated sequel to Square's top selling game Final Fantasy VII. The sequel however will not unfold in the form of a videogame, but instead as a stunningly realistic computer animated movie. Developed by Square-Enix in conjunction with Visual Works, FFVII: AC is slated for release sometime this year in DVD and UMD (for the PSP system) formats. The movie follows the events of FFVII two years later and will star the return of popular characters such as Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockheart. Japanese toy maker Kotobukiya (talented creators of previous Final Fantasy collectibles) unveiled at the American International Toy Fair their plans for an insanely detailed line of FFVII:AC action figures. Based on the character designs of Tetsuya Nomura, Kotobukiya's approximately 8" tall, fully articulated assortment will include: Shadowcreeper, Bahamut-Sin-, Cloud Strife and Fenrir, Tifa Lockheart, Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine. SRP for the latter three will be around $19.99 each, while the prices for the rest is still to be decided. US release through Diamond Comics will coincide with the movie's North American debut later this year. To gear fans up for this new series, Kotobukiya is re-releasing several FFVII resin statues. These consist of Vincent Valentine, Tifa Lockheart, Cloud Strife and Yuffie Kisaragi (SRP of $59.99 each) as well as the Highwind.
