Mike Banks of Samuarai Comics on Read Across America Date: 2/24/2005 |
'A Great Opportunity' February 24, 2005 Mike Banks of Samurai Comics in Phoenix, Arizona wants other retailers to know about the outreach opportunity represented by Reach Across America: Retailers across the country looking for a great opportunity to reach out to their local communities should participate in NEA's Read Across America. Initially created as a one-day event to celebrate reading on Dr. Seuss's birthday, March 2nd, NEA's Read Across America has grown into a nationwide initiative that promotes reading every day. Schools across America are inviting in guests to read to the kids for this event. Samurai Comics has already arranged to read on a couple of different days. We plan to bring books such as Little Lit and Herobear and the Kid to read to the kids. In addition, we are offering all of our employees paid time off to go into schools to participate. This is a great opportunity to promote reading as well as comics and sequential art in your local community. Don't let it pass you by!
