Mononoke Adapter Neil Gaiman Visits Studio Ghibli Date: 9/20/2007 |
Neil Gaiman, the author of the Sandman comics, the Stardust novel, and other acclaimed works, visited Studio Ghibli this week. He wrote in a blog post, "I plan to?pay my respects there, something I've wanted to do since they first invited me, when I was working on [the English adaptation of] Princess Mononoke, all those years ago." He met Mononoke director Hayao Miyazaki, producer Toshio Suzuki, and Steve Alpert (vice-president of Ghibli's international division). Miyazaki showed Gaiman the nursery he is building as a "side project." Gaiman is in Japan to promote the Stardust film adaptation. Thanks, John Blackburne via the Miyazaki Mailing List. |
