Human-Sized Eva Spear Auctioned for 13.7 Million Yen

Update: The animation company Gainax and the Evangelion Store have auctioned the human-sized Spear of Longinus replica from the Eva at Work art exhibition for a final bid of 13,727,000 yen (about US$121,100) on Friday. As inspired by a crucial element in the Neon Genesis Evangelion psychological drama anime, artisan Kaoru Watanabe forged this 2.2-meter (7.2-feet) double-helixed spear from 28 kilograms (62 pounds) of steel.
