Vancouver Japanese Consulate Presents Anime Screening Date: 9/10/2007 |
The Consulate-General of Japan in Vancouver, Canada is presenting a special screening of two recent Japanese films in Vernon, British Columbia. At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, the children's anime Glass Rabbit, a story of growing up during World War II that is based on Toshiko Takagi's autobiographical novel, will play at the Towne Cinema. A screening of the live-action adaptation of the Kamikaze Girls novel will follow at 8:10 p.m. Both films will be shown in Japanese, with English subtitles. Earlier in the year, both films screened in Vancouver, within the Pacific Cinematheque's Kibatsu Cinema series. |
