Legitimate Crayon Shin-chan Products Removed From Chinese Market Due to Bootleg Trademark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Futaba, the publisher of of Crayon Shin-chan, was recently forced to pull Shin-chan related merchandise from Chinese store shelves because of a trademark/copyright infringement registered by a Chinese bootleg manufacturer. A Chinese company had registered a trademark for the Chinese equivalent of "Crayon Shin-chan" and released unlicensed products that copied original Crayon Shin-chan designs. Futaba has officially requested the termination of the false trademark. Crayon Shin-chan is extremely popular in China. In 2002 Futaba began releasing Chinese translated copies of the Crayon Shin-chan manga in order to combat bootlegged copies of the manga. They feel that they have successfully put an end to the pirated manga, and intend to put up a strong fight in order to put an end to the bootlegged merchandise. |
