Del Rey Licenses Basilisk Authors' Yagyu Ninja Scrolls Date: 5/21/2007 |
MangaCast notes that Del Rey's manga calendar includes The Yagyu Ninja Scrolls, a new work from Basilisk artist Masaki Segawa. After Basilisk ended in Japan, Segawa started Y+M, his adaptation of Futaroh Yamada's The Yagyu Ninja Scrolls (Yagy? Ninp?ch?) novel, in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine in 2005. Yamada also wrote The Kouga Ninja Scrolls, the basis for the Basilisk manga and anime as well as Shinobi: Under the Blade. Yamada's entire Ninja Scrolls (Ninp?ch?) novel series served as the loose inspiration for the Ninja Scroll movie and television series. The calendar lists the shrinkwrapped Yagyu Ninja Scrolls Volume 1 as shipping on October 30. |
