Weekly Shonen Magazine Circulation Drops Under 2M Date: 4/20/2007 |
ComiPress is reporting, citing figures released by the Japan Magazine Publishers Association (JMPA), that the circulation of Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine has dropped below two million. Although Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump has seen a slight increase in readership recently, it has seen its circulation decrease by some 2.8 million readers since the late 1990s. Of Kodansha's manga magazines, only Weekly Shonen and Young remain profitable, with Monthly Shonen breaking even and the other titles all essentially losing money.
