Ultraman To End Due To Ratings Slump? Date: 1/27/2007 |
According to an article in Josei Jishin Magazine No. 2/6 which went on sale on 1/23/07 the latest Ultraman TV series, Ultraman Mebius could signoff in March and not be renewed due to decreasing ratings. The move could possibly wrap the 40 year old series in live action form for good, or at least, for the foreseeable future. More or less for the last 11 years, April spelled the start of a new Ultra work from Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting (CBC). According to Mr. Endani of the company there has been no formal proposal for a new Ultra series. Ratings for Mebius are gauged at around a 4% share according to one unnamed affiliate. Edani-san however adds that even if Ultraman ends, the series' title character is an immortal hero. |
