Retailer Alert
Date: 2/1/2005
With the North American anime, manga, and video game industry experiencing a boom in terms of sales and profitability within the past few years, recent high profile lawsuits have been filed against several independent retailers and distributors. These retailers and distributors are accused of distributing and selling counterfeit or bootleg anime DVDs and merchandise by leading industry manufacturers such as Bandai, Microsoft, and Nintendo in 2004. The legal action taken by these companies have come as no surprise as they struggle to battle against the wave of cheap knockoffs in an effort to protect their licensed intellectual properties within the past few years.

AAA Anime encourages independent retailers not to support unlicensed or counterfeit merchandise and to check current inventory in order to make sure products are legitimately licensed and of high quality manufacture. Many of our customers have expressed concern regarding these lawsuits within the industry and we would like to assure customers that AAA Anime Inc. does not carry any unlicensed or bootlegged merchandise.
