Japan Academy Prize to Honor Animation Date: 12/21/2006 |

"Japanese Oscars" To Honor Animation for the First Time In 2007, the Japan Academy will, for the first time, award one movie with the title "Animation of the Year." Other Japan Academy Prizes include Picture of the Year, Director of the Year, Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, etc... The nominations for the Animation of the Year for 2006 were announced on December 19, they are: Arashi no Yoruni Gedo Senki Toki wo Kakeru Shojo Brave Story Detective Conan 10TH Movie Tantei Tachi no Requiem The winners will be announced on February 16.
