AAA Anime Inc. would like to warn all retailers and consumers of multiple bootleg versions of "Ikki Tousen: Kanu Unchou 1/6 Scale (Crouching version with Spear) PVC Figure."
The original press release for this item can be viewed here: http://www.aaaanime.com/animenews.asp?newsentry=3937
AAA Anime Inc. would like to point out the differences between the bootleg versions and Griffon Enterprises' version:
One major distinction on some bootleg versions, is that color of the outfit on the figure has Kanu in a green (or red) and white outfit, while the Griffon Enterprises' version has Kanu in a blue and white outfit. The bootleg version's packaging included "fan-art" of Kanu, however, the actual packaging from Griffon Enterprises has not been finalized yet. The bootleg version's packaging states that this figure is part of the "Story! Image! Figure!," which belongs to Yamato, not Griffon Enterprises. This is an error that will not be made with the official version. Griffon Enterprises' packaging will include contact information for their Japanese office, as well as contact information for AAA Anime Inc. Griffon Enterprises' packaging will include warning labels in English, while the bootleg version will include no such warnings. The bootleg is a poor quality recast of the original resin kit that this figure is based upon. Griffon Enterprises' figure will be of notably higher quality. The difference in quality can be seen when comparing to a previous release from Griffon Enterprises, "Ikki Tousen: Ryofu Housen 1/6 Scale (Standing version with Sword) PVC Figure." Although the packaging for the figure has not been finalized, it can be safe to assume that the packaging will follow the packaging of "Ikki Tousen: Ryofu Housen 1/6 Scale (Standing version with Sword) PVC Figure." Here is an example of the bootleg Kanu figure (*Note: This is not the only bootleg version available!):
