FutureQuake OEL Manga Anthology Pulled due to Plagiarism Date: 8/22/2006 |

UK OEL Manga Anthologies Issue #2 Cover Falsely Submitted. Following allegations that the cover art for MangaQuake issue #2 had been used without the original artist's consent, the publisher, FutureQuake has recalled the issue and offered an exchange copy to all readers who return their copy of the issue. According to FutureQuake, the cover art in question was submitted by an artist who claimed that the artwork was an original piece. However an artist by the name of Hoon contacted FutureQuake and contested that the artwork in question was a cropped copy of his own original piece, Soothe. Hoon's Deviantart account shows that his version of the artwork pre-dates MangaQuake issue #2 by over a year.
