Anime Music Sweeps 2006 JASRAC International Category Date: 5/19/2006 |
JASRAC annually presents the JASRAC Awards to the copyright holders whose musical works represent a large share of the royalty distribution. The Awards are now in their 24th year. The 2005 JASRAC Awards were bestowed based on the share of royalties contributed during the one-year period from April 2005 to March 2006. The Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards are presented for the three domestic works that gained the three largest totals, while the Foreign Work Award is conferred on the foreign musical work that earned the largest total royalties, and the International Award goes to the work that earned the largest amount of royalties from foreign copyright societies. Unlike 2005, when they only occupied 9 slots, anime themes swept all 10 placings of the International Prize category this year. For the 5th straight year of being on top, Pocket Monster BGM was yet again won the International Award.
