More on Fruits Basket Domination Date: 8/8/2005 |

Continues as Top Selling Manga -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fruits Basket continues to dominate North American graphic novel sales, with the lastest volume, volume 11 taking the top spot on the Bookscan list for the week ending July 24. As previously reported, Fruits Basket volume 11 was also the only manga in the USA today top 150 selling books for the same week. According to Bookscan, the top 15 selling Graphic novels in the week ending July 24 were: 1) Fruits Basket vol. 11 2) Tsubasa vol. 6 3) Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 2 4) Fruits Basket Vol. 10 5) Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 1. 6) Rurouni Kenshin Vol. 16 7) Inu Yasha Vol. 22 8) Negima Vol. 6 9) Hack//AI Buster (Novel) 10) Genshiken Vol. 2 (tie) 10) Fruits Basket Vol. 9 (tie) 12) Vampire Hunter D (novel) 13) Girl Got Game Vol. 10 14) V for Vendetta (the only non-manga in the top 15) 15) GTO Vol. 25 According to ICv2, the 9 volumes of Fruits Basket currently in the top 50 sold four times more copies in that week than all the non-manga combined. However there were only 4 non-manga in the top 50 graphic novels. For the week ending July 31, Tsubasa vol. 6 has joined Fruits Basket in USA Today's top 150 selling books list at #105 and Fruits Basket has moved up to 82nd position (from 143). |
