Anime Takes Honors at Fantasia Date: 7/28/2005 |

Mind Game, Kakurenbo and Place Promised Pick up the Awards -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Montreal's Fantasia Film Festival has announced the festival's award winning movies. Mindgame picked up more awards than any other movie. Mindgame was awarded the following Jury awards: Best Film, Best Director (tie with Survive Style 5 +), best script, and Special Award ? Visual Accomplishment. In the People's choice categories, voted on by Fantasia attendees, the following awards were picked up by Mindgame and other anime: Best Animation Film : Mindgame (Gold), The Place Promised in Our Early Days (Silver) Most Groundbreaking Film: Survive Style 5 + (Gold), Mindgame (Silver) Best Short Film: Kakurenbo (Gold). Gen Sekiguchi's live-action movie Survive Style 5 + was closest to matching Mind Game's 6 awards, with 3 awards, includeing Best Asian Film. |
