Things Look Bad for Thor in ?Shattered Heroes? Mjolnir Is Definitely Shattered Date: 8/19/2011 |

Marvel?s new teaser for the Shattered Heroes aftermath of its Fear Itself event doesn?t make things exactly look that great for Thor. It?s an image of the Odinson?s hammer Mjolnir, which appears to be shattered and not easily repaired. Shattered Heroes is the collective name for a series of one-shots dealing with the effects of Fear Itself on Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor (see ?Marvel Saves the Best for Last?). Let?s hope that Cap and Old Shellhead fare a little better than Thor. Marvel editor Tom Brevoort provides the none-too-reassuring commentary accompanying the image: ?The war is over, and the warriors return home, carrying with them scars of battle, both physical and mental. Now the cost will be tallied, the casualties buried and mourned, the rubble swept up and carted away. But the damage to our heroes isn?t easily repaired, the wounds not easily healed. Decisions are made and lives are changed?can shattered heroes find renewed courage to go on?? Couple this with Marvel?s recent announcement of a new God of Thunder (see ?Move Over Thor!?), and the prospects for the spawn of Odin certainly don?t look good. |
