Takashi Shimizu To Direct Parasyte Date: 7/17/2005 |

Ju-On Director to Direct Live-Action Adaptation of Tokyopop Manga -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Variety reports (registration required) that Takashi Shimizu has been chosen as the director for a New Line Cinema live-action adaptation of the Parasyte manga. In addition to directing the movie, Shimizu will also supervise the script's development. The screenplay is by Phil Hay, Matt Manfredi and Matt Drake. Shimizu is the director of both the Japanese horror movie Ju-on, as well as its Hollywood adaptation, The Grudge. Parasyte was one of the first manga released by Tokyopop, then called Mixx. |
