Whisper of the Heart Used to Promote Japanese City Date: 6/23/2005 |

City That Movie is Based on To Hold Location Tour, Free Screenings and Concert -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Students and store-owners in northern Tama, Tokyo are organizing a series of events focused around Whisper of the Heart to promote their city. The idea came from the students who proposed it to the local store-owners. Released 10 years ago, on July 15, 1995, Whisper of the Heart featured locations modeled on Tama New Town. The depictions in the movie appear exactly as the Tama locations they were modeled on appeared in 1995. At the time of the movie's release, many fans went to Tama to see the area that the films was modeled on. On July 10th there will be a tour of Tama, visiting six locations that were re-produced in the movie. On July 17th the movie will be screened with no admission charges and in December, Honna, who sang the movie's theme song, will perform a concert in the area. Thanks to Tad Morgan for this item. |
