'Summer Wars' Gets DVD, BD And Theatrical Release Date: 11/17/2010 |

Mamoru Hosoda?s Summer Wars, which won the Japan Academy Prize (equivalent to the U.S. Oscars) for Best Animated Feature 2010, will get a U.S. theatrical release this winter prior to its release on DVD and Blu-ray in February. The theatrical release of the English dub version is currently scheduled for ten major metros (Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Boston, Denver, Santa Fe, Philadelphia, Honolulu, and Seattle) in December and January, with more dates to be added. The Japanese language/English subtitled version is also continuing a North American festival run. Funimation home video versions will street on February 15th. The DVD will be priced at $29.98 MSRP and the Blu-Ray at $34.98. A marketing campaign targeting mainstream animation and anime audiences will generate over 50 million impressions.
