Supernatural Anime Concept Art Reveals Spikey Hair and Big Eyes Date: 6/24/2010 |
Are you ready for Supernatural: The Anime? If you live in Japan, you better get ready for it, because series creator Eric Kripke, and Japanese animation studio Madhouse are bringing the Winchester Boys to the animated screen, essentially remaking the first two seasons. But, you know, with spikier hair. Though we won?t see Sam and Dean getting back in their Pokeballs any time soon, or transforming into a demon killing Colt, we will get to see episodes from the first season in half hour anime format, plus a few originals. The first season will have twenty-two episodes (covering the original seasons plus some of the new episodes) airing in January of 2011, and then released a few episode at a time in box sets here in the states. And hey, what?s this? Spoiler TV has your first look at the designs of Sam and Dean from the series, and shockingly, they look like Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, except anime-ized. Spit take! Meanwhile, Supernatural: The Non-Anime Series will be entering its sixth season in the fall, even though I?m pretty sure they actually wrapped up the entire storyline*. *Okay, yes, fine... I know Sam shows up at the end all weird and stuff, but let?s be honest ? that was the last script of the series, and then they just changed it to create a cliffhanger ending. Blech. |
