'Star Wars' Animated Comedy Series Will Involve 'Robot Chicken' Creators Date: 4/7/2010 |
Lucasfilm Animation has announced a new Star Wars animated series that will take an irreverent look at the legendary science fiction franchise. Robot Chicken masterminds Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, who have already created two hilarious Star Wars parodies for their flagship series on Adult Swim, will join Daily Show scribe Brendan Hay in writing the new series. Green told The Hollywood Reporter: ?The Star Wars universe is so dense and rich; it's crazy to think that there aren't normal, mundane everyday problems in a world so well-defined. What do these characters do when they're not overthrowing empires?" Though no announcement of a network for the new series has been made, the Reporter concluded that the close relationship between Lucasfilm Animation and the Cartoon Network along with Green and Senreich?s association with the CN?s Adult Swim indicate that the new series will likely join Star Wars: Clone Wars and Robot Chicken on the Cartoon Network. |
