Information about this unusual tour can be found at www.sister.co.jp/GirlsUStour2005. The SXSW Music Festival is an annual event that showcases hundreds of musical acts from around the globe on fifty stages in downtown Austin, Texas. By day, conference registrants do business in the SXSW Trade Show in the Austin Convention Center and attend panel discussions featuring hundreds of speakers of international stature. During the evenings, music-industry attendants have the opportunity to listen to new and up-and-coming bands. The 19th annual SXSW Music Festival takes place March 16 - 20, 2005. Sample MP3s can be heard at www.sister.co.jp/Titan/index_e.html. Complimentary guest passes are available for this show; please call Mike Barone at 713-867-3279 to make arrangements. The Titan Go King's are available for interview before and after the show. Other Japan Girl's Nite bands include Petty Booka, Tsushimamire, Puppypet and Fantasy's Core. Petty Booka values the spirit of punk in their own way -- performing Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Madonna and the Ramones on dueling ukuleles. Tsushimamire is a modern, Japanese version of Mother Goose -- unique, funny, cute and scary. Puppypet, with a twin sister duo, have been described as "a moshing Bambi, lost in overdrive sound." Fantasy's Core, is a super-tight band that is indie to the core; they are the self-proclaimed ambassadors to the world for Nagasaki, Japan. |
